Sam is a counselling psychologist with significant experience of working with depression, psychological trauma, anxiety, low self- esteem, body image difficulties and eating disorders. Having trained in three different therapeutic schools – humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural – he integrates these in a non-judgmental, relational and change-focused practice.
In addition to his private work, Sam currently works in a specialist eating disorders service in the NHS and has a broad range of experience working short-term and long-term with people of different ages and social backgrounds.
Sam’s other interests include mindfulness and postmodern approaches to psychotherapy. He is also currently conducting research into the elements of treatment that people have found helpful in recovery from severe and enduring psychological difficulties.
Sam is chartered by the British Psychological Society and registered with the Healthcare Professionals Council. He is able to work through the following insurance providers: Aviva, AXA PPP, PruHealth and WPA.
£100-120 per 50 minute session, depending on time and day.
