Maria Chiara Galvan, born in Milano, has always been interested in sport medicine and biomechanics of the human body; after her graduation cum laude in Physiotherapy at the University of Trieste she worked for almost four years at the Sanitas Physiotherapy Studio and at the Casaverde Clinic in Trieste, where she treated orthopaedic and neurological patients.
She deepened her professional education by continuing studying Orthopaedic Manual Therapy techniques and Kenzo Kase’s Kinesio Taping Method both in Italy and in New York. In 2013, Maria Chiara graduated cum laude with a Post Graduation Master in Human Postural System at Sapienza University of Rome, developing her final Thesis on the efficiency of Pilates’ method in back pain treatment.
Fascinated by Pilates’ principles in rehabilitation, in 2014 she decided to move to New York and certify as a Romana’s Pilates Instructor at True Pilates New York, where Pilates’ technique was born, under the guidance of Joseph Pilates’ protégé Romana Krizanowska’s daughter, Sari Mejia Santo.
Following her passion for dance and arts, during her stay in New York City she approached rehabilitation principles for performing artists and dancers in Broadway theatres and at the School of American Ballet by volunteering at the Performing Arts Physical Therapy and Westside Dance Physical Therapy.
Maria Chiara now brings her extensive academic background and experience to London.
