Meriem Laouiti BA, DipHom, RSHom

Meriem qualified as a Homeopath in 2005 and has been practicing this healing modality ever since. More recently in 2019, she added a qualifiacation in Kinesiology to her arsenal of healing tools and skills, drawing on all of her therapeutic knowledge to treat and assist her patients.

Born to diplomat parents posted in Washington DC during the Kennedy presidency, Meriem spent the first part of her life in Tunisia where the family returned a few months after her birth. After a baccalaureate in Sciences she settled in London for dance and language studies at first, then after her wedding, went on to build a career in the city. Her next calling was as a mother to 3 children the eldest of whom has Down’s syndrome, all the time finding new subjects to study and new ventures to embark on, ranging from pre-school Montessori training to meditation and yoga.

How We Can Help

Meriem treats patients of all ages and Homeopathy can help with ailments and other chronic conditions that, when allopathic treatments have not improved, have caused side effects or other indications: allergies, asthma, eczema, acne, various digestive issues, women’s health, detoxification, stress & emotional issues so relevant presently.

Homeopathic consultation

This first consultation will usually take between one and two hours, depending on the practitioner. You will be asked many questions and some of them will seem strange for those not used to homeopathy. The practitioner is building up a picture of your unique make up, a bit like putting together a jigsaw puzzle.

The second session tends to be shorter than the first – usually between half an hour and an hour. Your homeopath will ask about changes that have occurred, using their detailed notes as a reference point, before deciding on the next step in your treatment.

The number of consultations that may be needed is difficult to predict – it depends on a number of factors such as the age of the patient, how long the symptoms have been going on and your response to your prescription.

Fees

£120 per 60mins

The initial consultation takes longer –  2 hours / £240

Follow-ups are usually 30mins-1hr.

Kinesiology consultation

During the first session that can last up to 2 hours, your kinesiologist will take a full medical and lifestyle history and work with you, with your consent, to identify and address your specific individual concerns and areas causing stress.

Assessments are made using gentle manual muscle response testing where the kinesiologist seeks to identify imbalances which may be contributing to the client’s loss of health and well-being, and ways to restore balance. Clients are fully clothed.

Based on biofeedback from the muscle test, you and the Kinesiologist can identify exactly what is involved and devise a plan. Suggestions and advice may include incorporation of foods, nutritional supplements, relaxation and other techniques, lifestyle changes and more.

On Usui Reiki:

Usui Reiki is both a spiritual practice and an energy healing system originating in Japan from its founder Mikao Usui (1865-1926). However Reiki energy has been around at least for thousands of years and in fact some feel it has been around since the beginning of time, the reason why various “Senseis” (masters) are credited with establishing their own healing style, all using the same Reiki energy.

The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively, on or near the body using their intuition and training as a guide. There is no massage or manipulation. Reiki can be used on the person as a whole, or on specific parts of the body. It is also possible to receive Reiki at a distance and aims to work on the four levels of healing; the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

It is a tradition that is open to any belief system and benefits may include deep relaxation and the promotion of a calm peaceful sense of wellbeing.

On Bach Flowers:

As a bacteriologist and pathologist Dr Edward Bach undertook original research into vaccines in his own research laboratory.

He qualified as a doctor in 1912. He stated as he received his diplomas, “it will take me five years to forget all I have been taught.” After an operation on a tumour doctors gave him 3 months to live. However as he lived beyond, He aspired to a more holistic approach to medicine. Perhaps this explains why, not being a homoeopath, he took a post at the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital. He adapted his vaccines to produce a series of seven homoeopathic nosodes, gaining him the title of “second Hahnemann”. Still not satisfied he went further into more energetic studies leaving material methods and reductionist paradigm and so turned to nature and specific plants relying on intuition and trial and error to rely on 38 remedies as the main stay of his new subtle therapy to improve specific a emotional and mental state – as well as physical distress – that is connected to each.

What to expect during an appointment:

During an Integrative Medicine consultation, Dr Boecklin will take the time and consideration to really understand the personal context in which your illness exists. This is achieved through in-depth and detailed discussions about your nutrition, sleep patterns, digestion patterns, stress level, social support systems, hobbies and any medications you are taking.
She  will also review all of your medical records and conduct a full physical exam that may incorporate Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis approaches, such as tongue and pulse exams.

Dr Boecklin believes that individuals can contribute appreciably to their own healing and encourage her patients to take an active role in that process. Thus, after charting your personal medical history, you and her will work together to develop a collaborative and holistic treatment plan that is tailored to your individual needs.
