Despite its name, Sports Massage is not exclusively for sports people.
Generally, it is a massage technique that treats the growing number of postural problems that occur due to the excessive use of computers, long periods of driving, sitting and the repetitive strain of muscles brought on by sport and day to day living. This is of course of general application.
And, of course, there is specific application for the sports person, whether that means a full-time athlete, a weekend warrior, an occasional gym-goer, or someone who simply enjoys a hit out on the tennis court. The application is two-fold: the obvious is to treat injury, from niggles to major debilitating injury. The second, equally important, is maintenance – to keep the body performing well, to help prevent injury.
